Noisy Interactive Posters by DM9DDB

Clever campaign by DM9DDB for Saxsofunny, a sound engineering company from Brazil.

Playing with the theme “Every image has a sound”, the Brazilian agency created interactive ads using different materials to simulate the sounds of objects pictured in their campaign posters.

And you know, the fact is, nobody knew that they were prosthetic legs. They were the star of the show - these wooden boots peeking out from under this raffia dress - but in fact, they were actually legs made for me.” Aimee Mullins, on her look in the Alexander McQueen S/S 1999 show.

OUTFEET

Industrial designer Aviya Serfaty has come up with the idea of an artificial limb, which transforms the traditional prosthetic limb into a fashionable accessory.

Named ‘Outfeet,’ the artificial leg can meet the needs of a variety of users. Made of lightweight carbon fiber, it features adjustable knobs that create artificial arches in the sole. A separate high heel component can also be added or removed, depending on the look the user is going for.

A film-maker who lost his eye during a shooting accident as a child has turned his prosthetic one into a video camera.

Rob Spence told Sky News the technology is like something you would usually only see in films and as a result he got backing from experts in the field.

‘It wasn’t easy but because it’s so like (science) fiction, engineers had a lot of fun making it.

‘I was able to do it without a budget - it was a fun project for these guys.’

The technology used is the same as in a wireless lapel microphone with a transmitter and receiver.

Rob Spence, 37, who got the injury from a shooting accident as a child, now has a video camera in its place.

The incredible technology, which is like something out of the Terminator movies, was made by electronics experts.

And Rob, from Toronto, Canada, reckons in the future people will choose to have robotic add-ons.

“People are going to have the option of having superior arms, superior eyes at some point.

“People say no one would ever cut off their own arm and replace it, but if the technology gets there — and it looks like it will — people will think about it.

“They might be early adopters.”

The technology in Rob’s eye transmits video information to a receiver.

It can then be shown on a handheld screen or another piece of hardware.

But it is not attached to his brain and has not given him vision in that eye.

Rob added: “I’m a cyborg.

“I’ve a prosthetic eye, with a camera right in the eye.

“I just pop it in. I can even film myself with my own eye.”
